Duplex Apartment Development
Royal Cliff as it was then known, was distinct by the neo-gothic curtain wall façade overlooking Repulse Bay, out of context with the stunning waterfront location. Our goal was to tame this stern and aggressive appearance and subdue the harsh internal environment created by mirrored glass and sealed windows.
The solution was to completely refurbish the development including facades, roofs, roads, terraces and pathways. Our primary approach was to open up this façade by removing as much of the structure as possible. We then introduced operable full height doors with exterior balcony features, which permit more connection with the environment and the opportunity for natural cross ventilation. This has helped create a feeling of light and openness more appropriate to the location.
