Bespoke Private Villa
Nestled in a cascading, west facing ravine, with a dramatic slab of rock defining its northern edge, Villa Amanzi commands stunning views over the azure blue of the Andaman Sea.
The principal defining element is the rock. It dominates at every juncture, resonating on first approach, through the migration from public to private space where one is almost forced to touch it. It is prevalent down the entrance steps, through the living and upper terrace and descending through family areas and beyond down a steep jungle path that arrives at a secluded shale beach, flanked by the same seam that bade welcome 60 metres above.
The home has grown out of the rock. The upper bedroom wing rests upon it, forming a bridge under which the living space completely opens on to the gardens. The line between indoors and out has disappeared, encouraging a lifestyle and use that is unashamedly modern but quintessentially tropical.
